Around York County

Published on: Dec 3, 2003

Yorktown, Dec. 3This past June, York County joined 19 other communities throughout the Commonwealth on the steps of the State Capitol to be officially recognized as a pilot community in the ongoing planning for the observance of the 400th anniversary of Virginia and Jamestown to occur in 2007. At a ceremony held in Richmond, a pilot community flag was presented to County Supervisor Sheila Noll to be displayed in the community.  In this photo, Supervisor Noll, right, presents the flag to Bonnie Karwac of the York County Historical Museum, where it will be displayed in new display cases scheduled to open in the lower level of York Hall in February.
