September 9. 2019
I hope everyone is enjoying the last official holiday of summer! We should all be looking forward to a new school year as retired teachers. Last week I sent out 64 invitations to our newly retired teachers! It is my hope that we will have a few new faces to join us.
Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 11:30 am at Joe and Mimma's. I will be in Savannah, GA and Bev Woodard has so graciously agreed to fill in for me. Please support her and help her to welcome any new members who may be attending.
As usual, we will be collecting school supplies for the Bright Beginnings program at the YMCA.
Our speaker is a wonderful young man who has valuable information to share with which includes information we need to consider as we age. I have heard him before and he is really good.
Please let me know by SEPTEMBER 13 if you will be attending the meeting. I have to let the restaurant know how many people to expect. I will alert my callers, but if each of you can respond to this email or call me at 850-5870, I will greatly appreciate it.
Hello, YRTA members and welcome spring-like weather!
Our next meeting will be at Crook’s United Methodist
Church in Yorktown on Wed., March 16th at 11:30. The menu will
include: chicken breast, potato casserole, salad, baby lima beans, rolls,
tea/coffee, and dessert for $15.00. The telephone committee will be making
calls soon and it is important for us to have an accurate count. If you have
not been notified by March 11, please give Helen Wilkerson a call at 757-850-5870
to make a reservation.
