Marlbank Cove News to Use ...
The spring Cove Clean-Up Day will be on Cinco de Mayo this year—Saturday, May 5th. So come on down to the clubhouse anytime from 9AM that Saturday. Recommend you wear work gloves, and please bring any tools you can contribute to the effort -- clippers, loppers, leaf blowers, rakes--or just bring yourself and we'll find you a chore. If you can't be there at 9, come whenever you can. If you can only stay an hour, that'd be great. All ages welcome! Scouts or York students needing community service hours?—I’ll sign your paperwork.
Depending on the numbers who come, we will work around the clubhouse and pool, parking lot, at the clubhouse gate and sign area, and the front entrance island and sign area. If we REALLY have a lot of people show up, we could work on the copse of trees and brush between Lookout Point and the common area field. And of course, the more who help, the faster we finish.
And the faster we finish, the faster we can head to Cinco de Mayo for lunch! Si, all are welcome to join as some of us will head over to Cinco de Mayo restaurant on Hwy 17 for a little sustenance and thirst quenching after the clean up. What could be more appropriate than THAT!? Need more information ... call Craig Hanson at 872-9639.
Marlbank Cove teens, ages 14-17, who are interested in working as MCA Clubhouse attendants this summer should contact Ed Kuster at 874-6872 or at Edwin.j.kuster.civ@mail.mil not later than 1 May 2012. Attendants will be required to unlock, monitor, clean, and lock the clubhouse when it is open for general MCA use on weekends beginning Memorial Day weekend through the summer to Labor Day weekend. Attendants normally work a 4 hour shift; either 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Attendant orientation will be at the Clubhouse on 1 May at 7:00 PM.
