2012
Some holidays have come and gone. The yard, window, and door decorations have come down and packed away for next year. The luminary event came and went. And, the neighborhood looks a bit darker without all the lights. But our fondest wish is that each and every one had a great holiday season.
The new year probably brought some resolutions or attempts at change – like drop a few pounds; not spend so much next year; get the cards out sooner or just get the cards out period.
The daylight is increasing and not at a standard rate. On 21 Dec, the Winter Solstice, the sun stopped ‘going south’ and started to return north. On 22 Dec, it had approximately one more minute of sunshine than the previous day. By 21 March, the sunshine rate will have increased by approximately 4 minutes more than the previous day. It will continue until 22 Jun and then start the reverse process.
I was out the other day, right after the New Year and I noticed St Patrick’s Day items for sale alongside St. Valentine’s Day candy. Are stores just rushing it a bit?
We have to worry about taxes before long and a couple of stores had the tax preparation software on sale. Those are not the final products. You should always search for updates. And the absolute ‘final’ version won’t be out until 31 Jan.
I need this like I need a hole in the head.
We all will have to start planning about crab grass and getting our lawns prepared for the coming Spring and (hot) Summer.

Is it time for the pool to open?<lol>
Have a great new year everyone!
